Veteran KPRC Channel 2 news Houston investigative reporter Stephen Dean has uncovered yet more issues with TDCJ staff members having sexual relations with offenders. These issues have been around for years, but they seem to be becoming even more frequent. Dean will report just what he found live on the Sunday night May 1st 10pm newscast.
The Peabody Award winning investigative reporter Stephen Dean has been exposing abuses of power and government missteps since 1984. His in-depth reporting has exposed countless episodes of wrongdoing and shady dealings, including those by judges and other elected officials. Two have been removed from office after Dean reported on their tactics that targeted innocent people. One was indicted and arrested after running from Local 2 cameras.
TUNE IN SUNDAY NIGHT!

Stephen is a responsible reporter. I am glad he is looking at issues in the Texas cages. There is more, a lot more.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me sick on what people will do with convicts. Most of the employee's are good hard working honest people. It's the few that make us all look bad. Only way to put a dent it it is jail time. Also not rehiring them through mediation.
ReplyDeleteThis I don't understand... How can a officer be fired for have sex with an inmate and get his/her job back?Isn't that a State jail felony??Are they not being charged when they get caught?TDCJ has lowered its standards way too low. There was a tour of soon to be new boots that came through my unit and one of the women saw an inmate and went nuts over him.She started talking very loud about how she was gonna have to remember that inmate cell because she wanted to check out his "package".She says for all to hear"I'm gonna have his baby"!!!! Of course she was walked off the unit.Think about how many of them that are smart enough to keep their mouth shut. Also the sex and relationships that go on between officers and supervisors is out of control, most don't even try to hide it.
ReplyDeleteWhat you have to understand is that TDCJ OIG investigators are few and far between and most have caseloads that are just crazy. It's also an issue with the local county district attorneys office as well. It's all about money. It takes money to take a case to trial. Most counties are pinching pennies. The deterrent factor is just not there. It's a state jail felony but it's seldom ever imposed. I have seen Officers get pregnant by offenders and admit to it. They never see any time. Since they are not going to prosecute them anyway, i say they automatically place them on 5 yrs probation, fine them $2,500, and make them hold a huge sign on the street corner for a week saying " I have broken the tax payers trust as a state correctional officer by having sex with an inmate".
ReplyDeleteI love it !!!!! 5yrs probation,2,500 fine,yes!!! Holding up a hugh sign,hell yes!!!!
ReplyDeleteStephen Dean looks like he's having some sort of inappropriate relationship...just look at the guy.
